PACchecker - Orchard ArcHouse data checker
What is PACchecker
PACchecker is a series of data checking reports for users of ArcHouse. It is
not uncommon in any computer system for various assumptions to be made about the
data used that are not enforced. For example many ArcHouse customers code the
number of bedrooms or occupancy of a property into its property type. Over time,
it is inevitable that changes to the dwelling screens are not reflected in the
property type leaving some properties with a mismatch between the different
parts of the system. It is then common for people to run reports based on
property type and others on the number of bedrooms and for the summarised
information to be different. This may seem trivial at first, but small
errors creep up over time and cost many man-hours in explaining differences and
potentially lost income as data slips through the cracks.
PickSoft have had a lot of experience analysing data from many housing
association systems and have seen how such small errors can lead to much larger
issues. As a result, we have developed PACchecker as an add-on set of
reports for PACextract to enable issues to be detected and corrected early.
